Rating: 5
Summary: Right on the dot with examples.
Comment: I agree with previous reviewer. Starters may find this book little hard to follow. This book is best if used as reference. In other words you must be somewhat familiar with tuning expects of Oracle before nsidering purchasing this book and to benefit / improve or mastering Oracle tuning.
Rating: 5
Summary: Tuning from the Metal Up
Comment: If you want one book to help you figure out how to get better performance from your Oracle system, this is it. It is written for the real world, not to pass an exam. As such, it goes well beyond Oracle, clearly explaining how the underlying hardware and system architecture affect performance, including examples from the author's experience. Good overview of RAC also. A great value!

Summary: Do not waste your money
Comment: I am studying certification examination and I bought this book for studying 4th examination. I have 3 books on Performance Tuning subject and this one is total disapointment. In the book you can only see many repetitions (I think writers put these in order to increase page count) and useless commends. I could not find any detailed information on subjects, only well known regular information on Oracle database. If you do not want to waste your money, DO NOT BUT THIS BOOK.
