Rating: 5
Summary: This is My Bible
Comment: Even now, after much study of investing, I always come back to this book for clarification. Consider this book as the very basic starting point for all other investing knowledge.

YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS BOOK!!!!

Rating: 3
Summary: A Nice, Concise Introduction to Finance and Markets
Comment: As a starting point for someone unfamiliar with finance and financial markets, this book is excellent. It uses plain, simple language to explain the workings of money, finance, and the stock market. However, beore you run out and invest the farm based on what you read here, understand it is only an introduction.

If there is a criticism of the book, it is that it is somewhat lightweight on financial advice, but then again,it is not a financial advice book. It is essentially an introduction and primer on how the stock market works. And that is all it should be used for as some of its discussions of what the ebbs and flows of the stock market mean are highly generalized.

So, if you need to understand the jargon and obtain a grasp of how the markets work, start here. Just don't let this be your first and last read before you dive into the financial markets.

Rating: 5
Summary: Excellent -- for what it is!
Comment: This book is VERY BASIC, and many of the reviewers took points off for that. If you know almost nothing about how banks work, what inflation is, how to understand the details of the business section of the newspaper, etc. This book will teach you. If you want to know how to get rich by investing, this is not the book for you (nor does it claim to be.)

For that, I recommend reading Robert Kiyosaki's entire library.
