Summary: Almost a Perfect Translation of the Excellent Game.
Comment: Wonderful and Superb. I love the game and love the novel. It goes much deeper into the characters lives by the multipe P.O.V.'s presented. I gave this book only 4 stars because most of the puzzles and rooms aren't included the story. This is NOT a put down. I just wanted to draw attention to the fact. If S.D. Perry had included everything like with "Umbrella Conspiracy", the book would be incredibly thick and dull.
Some readers claim that the Res. Evil novels are not "scary enough". If you played the game then you already know what to expect. Does one need to see all 9 "Friday the 13th" movies to know Jason murders all jabronies that enter his forest? No, you don't. Read (and buy) these novels to explore the new depths of the RE world, not for fear. I highly recommend reading all 4 novels.

Summary: The best book I've read
Comment: This is the first Resident Evil book I read (I have Caliban Cove and ordered the other 2). I must say that this is an excellent book for fans of the Resident Evil games (I know I am). Even if you don't like the games, you'll love this book. I was fascinated at how it so successfully transferred a game into a book.I was so hooked that I had to read it in one sitting (4 hours is a long sitting!) Ms. Perry is a wonderful author. I can't wait to start on Caliban cove and the others.

Summary: one of the better books I've read this year
Comment: I have been reading the Resident Evil series since they started bringing out the book versions of the game. I like the fact that Ms. Perry writes her books as if you are actually there with the characters, taking part in the action. I read a lot of science fiction and fantasy, and this series is well-written enough to actually draw the reader into the story and make him/her feel what the characters are feeling. Many books can leave the reader feeling cut off from the action because they don't provide enough description or make descriptions so wordy that the reader gets "lost in the English." I really enjoy the way Ms. Perry develops her characters and describes their feelings and actions. She doesn't make her setting up of the story tedious or too wordy. I only wish more authors could write as well as she does.
