Summary: Practical Programming/Implementation of FEM
Comment: This book is one of the most excellent practical resources for finite element analysis I have seen. The authors systematically build from one chapter to the next explaining the theory behind each concept as well as the efficacy of one method or type of element over another. This book also discusses algorithms and presents code in FORTRAN. Even though I chose to program in C, the charts and discussions were of exceptional value. An example of this is one chart which shows different types of 3D elements, their node locations, shape functions, and several sets of Gauss Integration points for each element. There are also more advanced concepts like the two level finite element method and mesh generation techniques. I would highly recommend this book to anyone learning finite element analysis or anyone who could benefit from practical guidelines for writing finite element analysis code.
