Summary: Something a Little Lacking at McDonald Hall
Comment: As great as it is to see Bruno and Boots again, and even see the tables turned on them, there was something lacking in this episode. Perhaps it was a stretch for something a little different. Bruno & Boots are confused by a mysterious "Phantom" practical joker, for whose pranks they are being blamed by default. They spend less time spiritedly plotting and planning than usual, however, and more time baffled and bewildered. Likewise, their partners in crime, Cathy & Diane, are confronted with "increased security" at Scrimmage's, and find themselves more frustrated than inspired to ingenuity. They are victims here, and while it is certainly different, it is much less fun. While the gang is all here --- Wilbur, Mark, Sidney & Co. --- even they seem a little tired of the routine. The appearance of Boots' younger brother is promising, but probably not as well developed as it could be. However, a Bruno and Boots volume is not to be missed, and this one is no exception. Elmer's foray into romance is alone worth the time!
