This book, The Life You Imagine: Life Lessons for Achieving Your Dreams, talks about Jeter's struggles growing up, and his inspiring life-long dream he fulfilled when he reached the major leagues. In this book, Jeter talks about setting goals no matter how high, and striving hard to accomplish those goals. This is a book about life lessons, and using perseverance to get passed any stumbling blocks that may occur in one's life. Jeter encourages kids to dream, and believe they can accomplish their dreams. Even Derek Jeter faced difficult problems he had to overcome. In this book, Jeter gives a positive message to everyone, to believe in yourself, and you can do anything!
This book is unlike any other. Sure other books give positive messages about life, but this book gives lessons about life also. Anyone could tell a person that the problem they're facing is common and will work out, but it helps to hear from a professional athlete that experienced that same problem. Another thing that sets this book apart from others is its mood. The mood in this story is changing often. One chapter the story could be sad because of a bad situation Jeter faced, and the next chapter of the story could be happy because Jeter overcame his problem. The story goes back and forth, with Jeter facing a problem, then solving a problem. In the end Jeter is always able to persevere enough to get past whatever situation he faced, big or small. This book gives positive messages to everyone, but especially to kids. It talks about not using drugs, making right decisions, and being a good person. Derek Jeter is a great role model for any kid, not because he's a great baseball player, but because he's a great person.

Summary: To All Jeter Fans
Comment: If you are a true Yankee fan and more importantly a Derek Jeter fan, you need to read this book. His life has been one huge dream, one that I would definitely love to have as well. This book deals with the player's perspective, an inside look and behind the scenes descriptions.
This book has many Yankee baseball facts, but it is also a true inspirational book that makes us believe that we can all have a dream and someday, just maybe, manage to live it.
When Derek was eight years old, he walked into his parent's bedroom and said he wanted to play for the Yankees. His parents did not brush him aside. They came up with a plan to help their son make his dream a reality and after many long years, they succeeded.
Most books are written by authors who do not personally know an athlete, but this book was written by Derek Jeter himself and he tells a very honest and interesting story about his beginnings and how he was able to become a baseball player who makes $10 million dollars a year.
Derek is not only a gifted athlete but also a hardworking player who believes success is not about being lucky but about setting goals early and sticking to them. There are many family photos in this book with Derek as a young boy with his mother and father. He tells many stories about his life with them as a young boy. He grew up in an interracial family and tells how that helped define him as the person he is today. Derek also mentions how becoming a role model helped him to start the Turn 2 Foundation, which helps promote a healthy lifestyle for kids through drug and alcohol prevention programs.
In my opinion, Derek is a great person, baseball player, and role model for young boys. He has taken the pressure and publicity of being in the spotlight as the "star" of New York City baseball and he has still been able to be the kind of person that young boys and girls can look up to and admire.

Summary: My favorite book of all time..
Comment: I'm about to read this book for the third time and I'm sure I'll love it just as much as the last. Reading this book always refreshes my outlook on life, it makes me see things in a more positive life. Jeter not only shines on the field, but off the field as well. He is one person that I will look up to for the rest of my life.
