Summary: To Soon To Say Goodbye
Comment: Too Soon To Say Goodbye is an okay book. The characters are a bit weak and it doesn't show the trauma of having leukemia. Although it shows jealousy from Jill's sister, and how Jill just wants to be "normal" again, if you want really good books about leukemia read Lurlene McDaniel's books. Here is a short description of the book: Jill is a student who loves to swim. Her best friend lives next door and they live in Oberlin Ohio. When Jill is diagnosed with cancer she takes it hard. She refuses to take her pills or go to the hospital. There is a nosy girl who makes everything seem much worse than it is. That doesn't boost Jill's confidence. Even her best friend Amanda isn't particularly helpful. Both girls are "shallow" teenagers who seemed kind of annoying. Her Aunt Cynthia thinks she should take natural healers like herbal tea instead of all the medicines the doctors prescribe. Jill agrees with that so she won't have to get so many needles stuck into her. Her first roommate Elizabeth seems at first very snobbish about accepting her leukemia. That is Jill's opinion. At a support group, Jill learns that Elizabeth died that night. She is very sorry because she had a question for Elizabeth and she had begun to understand why Elizabeth acted the way she did. I would not recommend this book for someone who is looking for a moving book about cancer. There were very few strong points in this book. Too Soon To Say Goodbye is a good book for someone who is not an advanced reader.

Summary: I've Read Better
Comment: This book was OK. I like books about people facing real life illnesses, but i found this book sorta boring. I personally like the Lurlene Mcdaniel books, which give much better detail of what it is like to actually like to be in the hospital.
