Summary: Blind Date written by R.L.Stine
Comment: Think blind dates are great? That's exactly what Kerry thought. When Mandy phoned it was like pure blissful heaven to him. Kerry is not popular, the whole football team hates him,the cheerleaders who are their girlfriends also hate him. The cheerleaders won't even give him the time of day,( even though he's on the football team). Kerry's older brother Theo was on the team and was the most popular guy around, Kerry can't figure out why he couldn't be like his brother. Things get weird, not just with school, his brother Theo, but also with Mandy. Kerry had no idea that having a girlfirend could change everything so fast. Kerry doesn't know who to trust. This book kept me turning page after page. This book is a must have for everyone.

Summary: Suspenseful, mysterious! All R.L.Stine books are great!
Comment: Read any of R.L.Stine's stories lately?! They're great. I enjoy most of R.L.Stine's books because his stories are very suspenseful and thrilling. I never want to put down my book once I start reading. In Blind Date, the main character Kerry runs into many humiliating and threatening situations. I admired Kerry's personality and the way he dealt with his problems was sometimes humorous. I enjoyed this story very much. One of the reasons I liked Blind Date was that many upsetting and scary experiences happened in this novel. Kerry's first upsetting issue was when his eldest brother died, and then his parents got a divorce. Kerry's parents said the divorce would help make the stress go away. Usually at a time of mourning, the family should need each other, and a lot of love and support. His Dad was a cop and not a grand role model to his sons at all. Kerry's mother tried to keep in touch with weekly phone calls, which soon became monthly phone calls. I do not feel that not keeping in touch with the boys was a smart idea. While reading through these sad details, I remember when my parents got a divorce. I felt emotional in this situation and understood how Kerry was feeling. Kerry had a good sense of humor, and he dealt with everything so well. Kerry's youngest brother, Sean, acted immature and irresponsible, always harassing Kerry about his modesty and about not having a girlfriend. Surprisingly, the night Sean commented on Kerry having no dates, Kerry got a mysterious phone call while sleeping. The first conversation Kerry and his blind date had was quite amusing and mysterious. For example, Stine wrote, " 'Hi, Kerry.' It was the sexiest voice he had ever heard. 'I'm your blind date.'(Stine30) At first, I thought the phone call was a prank. But the suspense gave me something to ponder over. Stine continued, 'Oh, don't turn on the light, Kerry. Let's talk in the dark.' Her voice was kittenish, a soft purr. Every word seemed like an invitation."(31) I knew the blind date and Kerry would get to know one another a little better, and then go on a date. After Kerry hung up, he thought about go a date. This phone call occurred at night when Kerry was just getting into bed. After Kerry hung up, he thought about how weird the whole scene was. Overall, my favorite scene was when Kerry and his blind date first met. This was my favorite scene because while I was reading through Stine's dialog, we had to imagine what the mysterious date looked like. I enjoyed the way Stine described Mandy's appearance in details. Furthermore, I really liked the mysterious phone calls, and the guessing by Kerry to try to figure out who the threatening caller was. I could actually imagine what Kerry was seeing and feeling. The first encounter between Kerry and Mandy was at school. They were both nervous because Mandy had asked Kerry if he would show her around the school. Mandy and her family had just moved to town. A peer from school, Donna Mueller set Mandy up to call Kerry. All Kerry could think about was how sexy and amazing her voice and laugh had sounded. Kerry couldn't wait because he had a feeling this girl was going to be really different. Also at this point, Kerry was trying to imagine what his new friend was going to look like. She sounded hot and like the girl of his dreams. I do not want to give the whole story away, but I would like to give a recommendation to R.L. Stine's books. To any of my fellow peers, I attest to R.L. Stine's ability of being a great author. In summary, I really liked Blind Date and I have read several of his young-adult books from my school library. His Goosebumps series also attracts a lot of elementary students. I have found out many more books of his are available. I am determined to read all other novels of his I find. I love reading stories with plenty of suspense and imagination. Although most of his stories are related to real life issues, the thrilling, scary parts are always happening.I would recommend any of R.L. Stine's books to whoever enjoys a good thriller, or a suspenseful mystery. Every time I read one, I am so engrossed with the mystery that I never want to put down my book.

Summary: Blind Date- A Page Turner For All Ages.
Comment: It all starts out with a boy named Kerry ended up breaking the best football player on the team on accident, but everyone thinks else. Then things start to look better when he meets his blind date. When it's time to finally meet Mandy, a piece of the memory he had forgotten for almost a year ago comes back to him.
It is a mystery for him and the reader to find out what happened in his past as well as the mysterious Mandy. It's a spine-tingler and a good book for any thrill seeker.
