Summary: Sports A First Discovery Book
Comment: All of the First Discovery Books I've seen in my capacity as a children's librarian have been wonderful, except this one. The illustrations and text are good, but very few females are shown participating in any of the sports! There are only three pictures of women: one skier with a page of her own, one sprinter with three men, and two women playing mixed doubles tennis. Cycling, fencing, martial arts, boxing, rowing, sailboat racing, singles tennis, basketball, hockey, water polo, team handball, baseball, cricket, soccer, football, and rugby are all shown with only male participants! Seems sexist to me.
