Summary: Good Commentary - Need additional languages
Comment: Obviously, a very scholarly work--however, there is signficant use of untranslated German (and some untranslated Latin and French as well). Those who have only English and Greek may find this disappointing.

Also, C.K. Barrett wrote two volumes. Volume I covers Acts 1-14; II covers 15-28. Although the book description does not say so, what you will receive when you order this book is Volume II.

Summary: First place on Acts in any language
Comment: Barrett delivers what you'd expect in the ICC, and from Barrett: thorough critical comments, trenchant observations on the theology of Acts. Vol. 2 is supposed to be out soon, a fitting climax to an enormously productive scholarly career. This is the place to begin serious study of any subject related to Acts. Expect to be challenged.
