Summary: No, No, Nooooooooo!
Comment: This was the worst Kay Hooper novel I have ever read. The rest of the evil series was pretty good but Sense of Evil came out of nowhere with no point. The characters are forgettable and the experience of reading it was numbing. And I hate saying that because I love Hooper. But I couldn't stand this story. Believe me, I tried. Skip this one. Believe me you won't know or care what you're missing.

Summary: Good book but suggest you wait for paperback
Comment: I delayed buying this book for a long time due to the reviews on this site. Recently, I read the excerpt and decided to purchase it. I have to agree that the character development was poor, that the story got bogged down in all the psychic detail. However, I'd say the tale was fairly decent. I definitely cared enough about the story to want to finish and find out who the killer was. I'd definitely say wait for the paperback edition or even take it out of the library, though.

Rating: 2
Summary: A CHALLENGE TO COMPLETE!!
Comment: Only my commitment to finishing a book when I start it enabled me to complete this fantasy novel passing itself off as suspense. Despite the 300+ page length, I never felt as though I "knew" the characters in the story. And although I find paranormal psychology and the like fascinating, the book was just ridiculous. It was so overwhelmed with this type of detail that the story seemed lost somewhere in the midst of it all. Certainly, the killer was a surprise, but with better character development a reader could better appreciate the shock.

Will I read another Kay Hooper novel? Possibly, since I am a fan of the genre. But I won't be reading one anytime soon.
