Summary: Very funny, a lot of fun, loads of smiles, but slow at times
Comment: I am a pretty big fan of Ray Romano. I love his stand-up comedy and his show is usually just great. I love dry humor and Ray is full of it! Hahaha! I purchased the audio book version of this title, which is also read by the author; Ray Romano. Ray reads his book in such a way that it just sounds natural, not like he's reading at all. It made listening more like sitting through a four hour stand-up comedy routine.
There are a lot of funny stories contained in this comedian's work (my favorites are the ones about his childhood and family). Some of the stories will have you rolling on the floor, laughing hysterically. I recognized some of the stories from Ray's stand up routines. Great stuff! Unfortunately, for me personally, these episodes were pretty much few and far between. Most of the stories made me smile or at least chuckle now and then, but there are some long periods of snooze material. I hate to be critical because I totally enjoy Ray's work and he even shares in the book how difficult it was for him to put his own personality and comic style into writing. Since I do some writing of my own as well, I can appreciate this struggle. When I write, it often doesn't read exactly the way I talk.
For the most part I think Ray pulled things off beautifully and this is a great book. There are even some more serious moments in the book where Ray shares some cool thoughts concerning his thankfulness to God for the institution of marriage (of course this brief serious moment leads into another spiel of humerous stories). Very enjoyable. Husbands and wives will no doubt relate to some of Ray's comical insights concerning relationships and child rearing as well.
Personally, I could have done without some of the swearing (he uses the "F word" a couple of times) and crude humor in spots (there was very little of either thank goodness) but overall it was quite an enjoyable experience.
If you're a Ray Romano fan I think you will enjoy this book. Just don't expect it to be exactly like one of his stand-up routines or TV shows. Yes there are some segments that are side-bursting hilarious and those make it worth a listen (or read). I give it three stars, mostly because I wanted to laugh way more than I did. :)

Summary: Someone you can really relate to, Ray Romano.
Comment: In Ray's highly funny book, Everything and a Kite, he explains funny situations that has happend to him in the recent and non-recent past. He focus' his story a lot on his kids. I think they have been an inspiration mainly in his life. He also makes sure that everyone in his family has a say in his book,he wouldn't want to leave anyone out now. This book really made me laugh out loud. If I was you read this book when there is no one around, unless you like people looking at you awkwardly! His real life almost portrays his television show to a "T." I would highly recommend this book to anybody, except for young children. It does have a little profanity, but not a lot.
Rating: 5
Summary: Just as good as the show
Comment: And why shouldn't it be? The book, like the show, is observational comedy based on his own family. Every page seemed to have something on it that would garner at least an audible chuckle, if not better. But one warning......don't read this when you're around your spouse/significant other, though. You'll end up reading it a second time out loud!
