Summary: A typical X-Wing Series book. Brilliant.
Comment: The X-Wing Series books are (I feel) the best books in the Star Wars collection. And this book certainy stands up to the tough standard that the other books in the series have left.
Wedge is finally back where he belongs, with Rogue Squadron, and is sent to a distant planet that up to now hows not sided in the great war. But now the planet has decided to make a side, either with the Empire or the New Republic. However, this planet does not like diplomats. The only people it sees worthy to negotiate are pilots.
So that is where Wedge comes in. Hero of the Rebellion, and as far as I'm concerned, the greatest pilot in the history of Star Wars.
But is not easy for him. With ambushes, treachary and much more, he and his three comrades never have a dull moment.
A few parts may be predictable, but overall the story line is faultless.
And true there are only 4 of them and not a whole squadron, but that is enough to make this a heart pounding book that will make you want to keep reading no matter what time it is, day or night.
A superb book.

Summary: Great story but was missing a few things
Comment: Well, at first this book confused me, i mean this was a big step in the wrong direction, even though i did like the book, Allston just went in the wrong direction... leaving out one of the best characters in the history of Star Wars... Corran Horn, although the book had some great parts, the comedy was a change for the better though, and the romance, i was like HAPPY when i saw what was happening between Wedge and Iella, more happy and surprised when Corran and Mirax got together, the culture of the Audmari and the main country of Adumar was extremely, uhm DIFFERENT lol, i thought it was funny though, the blastswords were a neat idea, good one Allston........ on the other side, the book had great original yet patterned Fights, which is what makes the X-wing series, i hope Allston puts out more great books, hes my favorite author right now, way better than Stackpole
Rating: 5
Summary: Radiant
Comment: Everyone has their favorite SW novelist, and Allston is mine. Props to Stackpole and Zahn, but I simply enjoy Allston so much. One of my favorite things about his writing is that he doesn't neglect the minor characters, and this holds true in this novel, as well as his other XWing novels. There is less development of the main characters than in the previous novels; I think Allston assumes that anyone who's gotten this far knows who the main group is. However, he takes our previous assumptions and runs with them, creating a story that, however predictable the plot, glistens with the reality of the characters.
