Summary: The Personal is the Political (This Book Proves It)
Comment: Like one of this reviewers, I find myself constantly recommending this book to people I know. It's a great book for anyone who is unfamiliar with feminism (everyone seems to think they are, but few are). She is so honest, and open about her feelings and thoughts, that even people who live entirely different lives can relate. This book is beautifully written. I can't see that anyone can read it without a having new ideas and thoughts about Feminism.

Summary: I've recommended this book to every woman I know
Comment: This book makes it to the list of my top 3 favorite books. Maybe it's because some people think that because women can vote and have the choice of whether to have a job or not, women are thought of and treated equally. Maybe it's because this book takes me through all the emotions I love - anger, love, empathy, sisterhood, a sense of victory...This is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Real Life, indeed
Comment: Meredith Maran has led an interesting and varied life and I appreciate her candor in this book. What really sets this memoir apart is how she looks at situations from all angles and lets us in on her not always p.c. thoughts. This book promotes thought, and not always comfortably. It's an edgy book that made me re-evaluate a lot of things I thought I thought about feminism.
