Summary: This Book Stands The test of Time
Comment: I just recently completed reading this book (Sep 00) and although it is a couple of years old, it is still very relevant to building object-oriented systems today. The notation is not UML - perhaps they should update that - but the content, the tips and techniiques we have found to be very useful indeed at my company.
Worth buying!

Summary: Poor diagrams
Comment: Diagrams are the heart of a book of this kind and I rank this book very very low on the diagrams. I cant imagine poorer diagrams in this day and age. The content is decent, covers a lot of methodologies.

Summary: Excellent and practical introduction to object technology.
Comment: Upon a friend's recommendendation, I purchased this book for an introduction to the world of object technology. Overall, I found the book to be an excellent primer on the subject. Prior to reading the book, I was familiar with the basic principles of the object methodology but had no coherent framework of understanding. This book provides that structure and delivers an understanding of object technology in a coherent and concise manner. What I found particulary useful about the text is that is provided me with a touchstone for design and implementation problems associated with objects. In other words, the book provided a good cheat sheet for impressing my superiors and peers!
