Summary: Important Study
Comment: This book is exegesis at its best: a very provocative thesis that yields some amazing results. Braun uses sociological insights to give a whole new look at the first half of Luke 14. Especially interesting is his conclusion that the 'banquet parable'(14:16-24) is a story principally dealing with the conversion of a wealthy benefactor rather than a more traditional view which treats it as story about the inclusion of the Gentiles, etc.
