Summary: The Laughmaker
Comment: I think that this is his best book and I reccomend it to every Woody fan out there, his movies are the best of the comedy buisness, I have seen many of them and think that he has the ability to show reality in his own way. He shows you the relationship between husband and wife like it really is and could happen to anyone, I myself have done a article in my local news paper. I will like to discuss more deeply his works with anyone interested. I can still remember some of his jokes that i think are fabolous like: Mother (to doctor): He's been depressed. All of a sudden , he can't do anything. Doc: Why are you depressed, Alvy? Mother: Tell doctor (?) It's something he rea. Doc: Something you read, heah? Alvy: The universe is expanding. Doc: the universe is expanding? Alvy: Well, the universe is everything, and if it's expanding, someday it will break apart and that would be the end of everything! Mother: (shouting) What is your buisness? (to doctor) He stopped doing his homework. Alvy: what's the point? Mother: what has the universe to dp with it? You're here in Brooklyn! Brooklyn is not expanding! also another joke:I would never wanna belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member. and i have some more, well i think you should read this and other of his books he is a very wise man and he can handle to write anything.

Summary: Hysterical. The Woodman cometh.
Comment: Disillusioned by, "Interiors" or "Hannah And Her Sisters"? Think Woody is just not funny? Man, are you wrong. This book (which contains pretty much everything Woody wrote in book form) just kills you from the beginning & never stops. As goofball and irreverent as you'd expect from a comedic genius(Think, "Bananas" or "Take the Money and Run"- era Allen), don't be frightened off by the fact that Allen's later movies quit being side-splittingly funny. This book recaptures all the great, classic humor that made the Woodman famous to begin with!
Rating: 5
Summary: A great writer outshines his own brilliant films
Comment: I've always loved Woody's movies but he proves with this collection that he has always been a writer first and foremost. This book is a must for any lover of intelligent comedy. There are so many brilliant stories and essays here--prose you can turn to again and again as if revisiting a favorite album. Possibly the finest, funniest collection of humorous writing ever assembled.
