Rating: 5
Summary: Excellent, excellent
Comment: My own son experienced his first (and hopefully last) peanut reaction just before a year old and I can so relate to what the author has gone through. She lets you know it's okay to feel the guilt, sadness, stress and all the highs and lows that you go through worrying about the future, etc. My son is 19 months old and was diagnosed at 11 months. It has been a very stressful and emotional year. She touches on all aspects of what parents go through and how to handle situations. I just cannot tell anyone what a wonderful book this is for someone to read, especially a parent of a peanut allergic child. It has helped me greatly!

Summary: Not pleased
Comment: Although this book is good for those individuals who experience a very severe reaction to food allergies, I was dissapointed that it only briefly mentioned other reactions, specifically eczema. ...

Summary: Practical Advice Worth Reading
Comment: This book combines personal and professional expertise with practical insight. Any parent of a severely allergic child can identify with Ms. Collins' story...the fears she faced in the wake of her son's diagnosis and the challenges of parenting a child with food-induced anaphylaxis. Yet, she takes the reader past the fear, providing us with the help we need to get through daily issues at home, school, while eating out, traveling, etc. In this book I found gentle wisdom. How I wish this resource had been available 6 years ago!
