Comment: This is the long waited 2nd Edition of Trivedi¡¯s classic book on reliability and availability (R&A) analysis of computer and telecommunication systems. It is arguably the best single source book for gaining a comprehensive understanding of both the theories and the best practices of R&A analysis in computer and telecommunication systems. The book not only covers the theories (Markov chains, stochastic reward nets, fault trees, etc.) in detail, but also provides a wide range of real world examples in showing how to apply the theories. After reading the book, a reader would find it easy to start constructing analytical models for R&A analysis of computing systems.
I would highly recommend this book as an excellent advanced undergraduate or graduate course textbook. If you are doing any kind of reliability, availability and performance analysis for computer, telecommunication, or mission-critical systems, you should buy this book as a reference.

Summary: "True Blue..."
Comment: Two decades ago, this book was one of the first to appear on the subject.Until today, among several on my book shelf, it is still the one I most likely reach out to for occasional look ups.
It's an excellent introductory and reference book on existing methodologies for performance and reliability modeling and evaluation. The book is self contained and covers many current topics at a level accessible to senior undergraduate and graduate students, as well as to practicing engineers and system analysts. In addition to several hundreds of very helpful and motivating examples, the book also includes many complementary exercises and useful references.
This second edition, which includes many valuable and timely additions, is a very welcome rejuvenation of the "blue book"!

Comment: The "Probability and Statistics with Reliability, Queuing and Computer Science Applications - 2nd edition " by Kishor S. Trivedi is a valuable reference for students and professionals. Didactically organized the eleven chapters presents the core concepts of probability theory and stochastic processes in an accessible easy-to-understand approach. The rich set of examples and exercises, based on numerous computer science and engineering real world applications, allow the readers to build their knowledge gradually.
I would like to highlight the system reliability fundamentals covered and articulate with the remains topics.
