Summary: Great process. Performance not charisma as #1 reason to hire
Comment: Lou Adler shows us a quick and simple way to hire individuals based upon substance, not emotion. His technique enables better evaluation based upon performance (what have you done?). This forces less attention to presentation areas where our own personal biases tend to get in the way. Overall making for objectivity in judging, ranking, and rating candidates
One statement that now stays in my head while interviewing is, "the best candidate is not always the best at being interviewed" and vice versa! This is especially important in recruiting senior managers who may have a great deal of experience and skill in interviewing, but little of any real substance.
This "Hire With Your Head"; approach is especially useful when a number of staff interview a number of candidates. The aggregate, "objective evaluations" simply carries more weight!
"Hire With Your Head", is not just for outside hires. With internal candidates it's even more important you're personal bias or others subjective evaluation doesn't confuse the evaluation
I bought the book, listened to Lou Adler's tapes and quickly become better at judging and hiring people

Summary: Excellent resource for both managers and recruiters!
Comment: Lou Adler's hiring methodology - just 4 questions uncover all traits for a successful hire - must be the best-kept secret, and well worth the modest price of the book. I read this book, rather studied it, from cover to cover and I am implementing Lou's approach. Highly recommended for both managers and recruiters alike.
