Summary: an organic chemistry introduction through mechanisms
Comment: A very good aspect of this book is to present the basics of organic chemistry through mechanisms. It is much easier to memorize a reaction if you can explain it by a mechanism. If you read this book and beside work with the outstanding "Writing Reaction Mechanisms" by Miller et al. you are ready to start with more advanced concepts

Comment: Solomons' Organic Chemistry is the "feel good," hit of the year. A must own for anyone who's anybody!! Scintillating portrayal of pi and sigma bonding orbitals. But of course, the functional groups take the cake...as always
