Rating: 5
Summary: Unbelievably Real
Comment: I have not hardly been able to put this book down. It is a must read! Not a pretty story, but one that compels us all to re-think the way we are treating our children "in the system"! Regina Louise does an incredible job of bringing you into her world and writing it as if you are living it with her.
Thanks so much to her for doing what few people can do - show and help us feel the truth of a horribly neglected child. The good news???? She triumphs and you get to cheer for her and her success.

Summary: Suffer the Children..
Comment: I do not know if I have ever read a book featuring neglect as raw and honest as Somebody's Someone. Regina Louise' memoir has erupted emotions within me short of rage, but long on anxiety. Why was it so hard for this little girl to hear from her own that she was wanted? In our adolescent years, our worries should not consist of where can we find love; love should come automatically. Regina's concern was not only love but also acceptance. It saddened me that her mother and father threw her away like a dirty diaper. Leaving her to wonder if she would ever be Somebody's Someone.
Unfortunately or fortunately, I am not sure which; Regina did find acceptance within a shelter. During this time in her small life she also found a way to harden her heart. At a time when it was crucial, she learns to open up and let love.
Ms. Louise has broken a very significant mold with this memoir. Her brilliance in telling the story from young Regina's voice captured her innocence as well as her growth spurts. I highly recommend Somebody's Someone if you looking for something honest with no fluff.

Summary: One Helluva Story
Comment: Triumph of the spirit! I hope the author gets all that she deserves in life and God knows she desereves better than what she came from and went through. It is hard to believe that we still treat children as we did in the beginning of the new world: as though they are meaningless and insignificant. I recommend this book to all who want a reminder of how precious we all are even when we have no one to REALLY love us. This story speaks to the grace of God's presence in a little girls life.
