Summary: An interesting premise
Comment: This is the first book in a new series with the interesting premise that vampires have "enforcers" to keep an eye on the various nests and make sure that no vampire laws are broken. Sort of like vampire cops.
I liked the characters, and the tension between the nests was good, but for some reason this book didn't grab me the way the Anita Blake stories do.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and will read the next book in the series. I especially liked the humorous references to pop culture, such as having the enforcer be a Lakers fan and wondering where Buffy was when he needed a night off. Worth reading, but not a classic.

Comment: I really enjoyed this book! Susan Sizemore has come up with a great new twist on vampires in general. The first in a series of 4 to this date, "The Hunt," is set in L.A.
Selim is a Enforcer, there is one per city and it is the Enforcer who decides when there is a hunt and who is to be hunted. But lately the vampires in L.A. are really twitchy, they feel that Selim has been slacking on the job. Enforcers are not normal vampires... Whats more scary to a baby vampire? A 1000 yr old vampire or a Enforcer? Hands down, the Enforcer.
Enforcers are Judge, Jury and Executioner in their city. But what happens when there are three Enforcers in the same city?
A romping good read, definately worth the time to get caught up on this series!!! Loved it!

Summary: Fabulous
Comment: I think that the reason that I loved this book so much was that the characters were not clones of Whitewolf/Anne Rice vampires. They more closely resemble the lovers taken in The Hunger by the lamiae. However, the resemblance isn't that great. This book also pokes fun at gothlings a bit, which is why there may be some negative reviews.
