Summary: A Changed Woman
Comment: Reader comments- this is a great read! Dates to 1985 and is set in Ann Arbor Michigan. Laurie is a really approachable kind of heroine- she is not quite sure what to think of the new body she has after a year of diet and personal changes. And she really is not sure about how to deal with Craig and how he suddenly wants her now that she is slim and beautiful- she fears he only wants the package not the whole person. He has some explaining and growing to do as well as Laurie herself to find their way to true love and self-worth and trust. The fact that Laurie is an engineer in 1985 is great! You seldom see women in technical roles in romances and this was an early one.

Authors are Louise Titchener and Ruth Glick ( aka Rebecca York)

Storyline:
MISTAKEN IMAGE - Alexis Hill Jordan

She was transformed and triumphant!
Laurie DiMaria returned to Ann Arbor sleek and slim -- a far
cry from the plump young computer engineer who'd been sent
abroad to forge an alliance with a Japanese company. And she
thought she'd accomplished something else as well. She'd put
Craig Lawson, her handsome colleague, out of her thoughts
forever. Yet from the moment Laurie reintroduced herself,
Craig gave her all his attention. Soon he wanted all of her
time. Laurie knew she looked like a knockout, but the long
years of being brilliant and over-weight had left her totally
inexperienced in love. Why was the man she'd worked with for
so long -- and longed for in vain -- suddenly enthralled?
What did he want: the dazzling new image or the passionately
real woman within?
