Summary: Good Story
Comment: I love werewolf novels. This was a very good story. I enjoyed the various characters. Athena was crippled at an early age. Her family is very powerful. She lives with her brother and her life has been very sheltered as a society hostess. Morgan Holt is a werewolf who was convicted for the killing of his father. Once he left prison he deserted mankind and traveled with the wolves. One day he is badly hurt and changes into a man and collapses in front of a circus. The circus people, meeting another "outcast", take Morgan in. Morgan decides to stay with the circus because he owes it to them, and they need his help to earn enough money to support them through the winter. Athena's brother just happens to meet the circus, and then Athena meets Morgan. This story is pretty much about Morgan and Athena's growing relationship and how she will have to learn how to let her fear go, and Morgan will have to learn how to love and trust again. Very good story.

Summary: An author who pleases...
Comment: Morgan Holt is a dangerous man. Even if he were not a convicted killer, that would be true. He is a werewolf, but does not really fit in either the world of men or wolves. He has, however, managed to find a temporary home in a traveling circus. He is not the kind of man you would expect to be charitable, at first glance.
Yet, it is charity that will bring him to his destiny. When the troupe journeys to Denver to perform for a charitable event, Morgan comes face to face with a woman who will change his life. Athena Munroe appears frail and weak, bound to a wheelchair. He knows there is more to her than that; she is another of his kind, meant to run free.
Society demands that they deny who and what they are. It's dangerous, and exciting. Choices will be demanded by love that will either destroy the two or give them life.
**** You will see why Susan Krinard is considered the best werewolf writer of the day. She draws characters who bridge classes for love and defy the odds. Historically, her scenes are realistic and her players dynamic. You will never go wrong reading one of her books. ****

Summary: Very Disappointing - Spoiler
Comment: I was very disappointed with this novel. I loved Susan Krinard's Once A Wolf and Secret Of The Wolf so I was looking forward to this book. It was too "preachy" for lack of a better word. I lost whatever respect I had for Athena after she repeatedly failed to realize how much danger she was in from her brother. Morgan let her brother shoot him rather than defend himself and risk her anger. I don't know what the hell Krinard was thinking. The sanctity of life stops when the other person is trying to murder you or blackmail you into being basically enslaved.
