Summary: a bit of a disappointment
Comment: When I got to the last chapter...the screams started :) I just felt so cheated. Call me an optimistic fool but I really thought that this book will offer us a better ending to Sam's story. Okay, so I have to admit that it's kinda genius ending, but still...
About the characters in this novel. I've read all the books of QL, and some of the writers took free writing when it came to the characters and who was in the project's "lead" people. This novel really disappointed me when it comes to that. Although I really like the fact that they got Tom into the all deal I missed Sam's kid; I think that it could have been another "big" emotional thing for Sam to remember that he has a kid. But he didn't even remember that when he remembered his past leaps. Wasn't that important enough? And where did they got that David guy from ? And where's Tina?
so, in two sentences - if you're a quantum leap fan, you probably can't help but read this book, but just be ready for a tiring, too long, and a bit disappointing book.

Summary: Disappointing, but not a bad read....
Comment: Okay, just found this out-of-print book at a yard sale and bought it because I used to know these authors personally. I don't think it is badly written, though the cover is a bit misleading for those hoping for closure (and I've read Carol's explanation that the higher-ups would not *allow* the closure that Sam-and-Al fans craved; even so, then, the amount of dangling threads in this could knit a sweater for winter.)
I'm afraid I have to agree with the majority of the reviews here: Okay, but not satisfying.

Summary: A monumental disappointment
Comment: I bought this book when it came out and avoided reading it until now so I could feed into my denial that the publishers dumped this great book series. And I'll admit, the story was very attention-grabbing and quite compelling--until the last few pages. The author(s) allowed Sam some closure, but what about the fans? We have no way of knowing what really happens to Joe Powell once Sam leaps for the final time, and no tangible notion of how Max, Kevin and Dove fare out. Nor is there any real link of continuity between Sam and the Project at the date of the leap. As a reader and die-hard fan, I had hoped for a little closure--this just pushed me further back into denial.
