Summary: Try the workout
Comment: I agree that the book contains some very basic fitness information. If you are an athlete this book would be a waste of money. However, if you are an out of shape post-partum woman looking for hope and help to regain your figure, I found it motivating, and you might too. It's designed to take someone who is starting from scratch after having a baby- (if you're like me the worst shape you've ever been in) and motivate them into acheiving thier personal fitness goals. The snippets about the stars he has trained are intended to motivate the reader using examples everyone is familiar with. And he rightly gives THEM the credit for their achievments.
I highly recommend the actual workout. Rob's whole goal is to help you get into a routine you will like and can stick with. It is a simple, sound, and well balanced routine that requires very little equipment. You can do it in your living room while the baby is napping. And believe me you will get results. I lost 15 lbs and one size within two months, working out just three times per week. I belong to a gym and do my aerobic excersize there, but I actually prefer this routine to the weight machines. You will notice an immediate improvement in your strength, flexability, and endurance (not to mention sillhouette!) This is an especially good book if you're overwhelmed and just don't know where to start, or you've had problems sticking with a regular routine in the past. Definate thumbs up in my book!

Summary: Working with celebrities doesn't make you and expert
Comment: I find it discouraging to find that a book can be written by someone on the topic of maternal fitness without any educational expertise, just experience working with celebrities who are hardly of average fitness ability. Postpartum women deserve better.

Summary: This book was very disappointing.
Comment: I am very active and was so throughout my pregnancy. I was looking for specific post prenancy help, but this book did not live up to its title. It is a very generic exercise manual written for inactive people wishing to get into a program. There are chapters on muscle-building, fat burning, motivation, etc. You'll have to read half the book before getting into the workout section. Also included was a do-it-yourself fitness evaluation which any new mom would find depressing. A post pregnancy mile and a half clocked jog to determine a fitness level? I don't think so. The Demi/Tatum/Madonna tidbits were quite annoying. This book is much too basic for anyone who is moderately active.
