Summary: The very lonely firefly
Comment: This book I didn't like very much.It's about a firefly trying to find his friends and family.So he looks and looks.But everytime he thinks it's them.It isn't.But he keeps on looking.It teaches kids if you keep on trying you'll find what your looking for.It probaly for kids between the ages of 5 and 7 years old.This book is okay.Good but not the best.At the end the fireflys flash.

Summary: My 2-1/2 year old son loves it
Comment: My son loves the book but it seems like the same story as The Very Quiet Cricket to me, with a slight differences. When the book first came the lights didn't blink and I was afraid I'd have to buy batteries. After about 5 days my son was playing with the button on the last page and the lights began to blink - he squealed and played with the book for a really long time.
It's a great book, classic Eric Carle artwork and just long enough to still be interesting when you reach the end, but not on my "must have" list. It's always checked out from the library so I bought it. No regrets on buying it - we've read it daily for almost 2 weeks now - and he liked it even without the lights, so I'm sure he'll like still like it months from now.
