Comment: It's a fun story for the young ones, and the illustrations are fabulously entertaining. The story itself with the ugly monster and creepy crawlers makes it engaging and sure to keep the interest of kids. But the book makes me wonder why the main character appears to be a Native American boy. This doesn't appear to be relevant to the story, though the illustrator's note mentions that some of the art was inspired by Native American art. Which group or tribe?
