Summary: Wonderful read
Comment: The much anticipated Bedwyn series finale was well worth the wait. Some of the reviews stated that Balogh didn't give Wulfric his due, I heartily disagree. I admire the fact that she didn't change Wulfric's personality, he was still his cold icey self. It would have been a disservice to his character (and to the reader) if suddenly he became this warm and friendly guy after strongly establishing his haughty personality in the other Slightly novels. Wulfric was not wearing a mask, the arrogance he shows everyone is simply who he is.
Christine is the perfect woman for Bewcastle. I laughed aloud at her antics and appreciated the humor Balogh added to the book. While she does not readily accept him, she neither tries to change him.
They both know that what they see in the other is an honest display of character. A take it or leave it kind of thing.
This book is nothing more than a wonderful love story. Devoted soley to Bewcastle and Christine. There is no real intrigue. While all of the Bedwyns make an appearance, few secondary characters are introduced. SD was a fitting end to an outstanding series.

Summary: A Disappointment for Balogh fans
Comment: Slighty Dangerous is more then slightly disappointing. The two main characters are interesting enough but the overall story doesn't have enough to offer. Many fans have wanted Wulfric's story and it seems Balogh wanted to give them that but had no idea on what type of story to give him. We are given a house party for no reason, just to throw him and the heroine Christine together. It seems they just go through the actions without any real emotion.
The romance is very static with very minimal love scenes. Some readers will be bored by the whole story 100 pages into the book.
Perhaps if you are a fan of Pride and Prejudice you will enjoy this book. The hero Wulfric is a very cold and condesending character and the heroine never truly breaks him out of this mold even though she is the total oppposite from him. Perhaps if there was more for these two to do, the reader would see more passion and love grow between them.
Skip this one and pretend Balogh never wrote it.

Summary: Not what I had hoped for
Comment: To me, Wulf was the reason that I kept reading the series. On the one hand, I'm happy to have him settled. On the other, I had hoped for someone less flighty and with more substance than Christine for him and for a more emotional or moving story. I felt he deserved better. Someone more nurturing, at the very least, and someone with more warmth, maturity, empathy, and more quiet charm than Christine. I don't find the book convincing because it makes no sense that he would zero in on this one particular person or type of person and (even in romances, things must make a certain amount of sense). She's nice and everything, but not exactly rivetting. The same could be said of the story, which is sad because there was so much potential there.
IF I hadn't been waiting for it for so long, IF I hadn't built up so many expectations, IF I had bought it in paperback on impulse instead of rushing out to get the hardback on day 1; and several other "IFS"-- this would have been ok, I suppose. But, under the circumstances, I'm disappointed.
