Summary: Bit too simple
Comment: A bit too simplistic for the HS physics student. This book, instead, seems more aimed towards pre-HS students seeking a healthy head-start on physics concepts w/o being innundated w/ physics problem sets or mathematical equations and confusion. A small glimpse of the concept w/ emphasis on practical applications clearly present physics in a earnest manner to readers. Serves home-schooled students extremely well.

Summary: Very Informative and Comprehensive
Comment: I read this book this summer to prepare for a high-school physics course. Let me tell you- I'm sure I'll do much better now thanks to Physics Made Simple than I would had I not read it. The text is for the most part, clear and consise. Although quite confusing at times (the concept of torque could have been explained better, and vectors ,especially Velocity baffled me from time to time, there's nothing that couldn't be cleared up with a little chat with a teacher. I now have a much greater understanding of my world (especially electronics). The examples given are good, and some of the problems are really challenging. Its an easy read, with no real preassumptions that you know anything. In some parts of the book, the concepts are a little too simple, such as force resultants, where a little preassumtion of geometry and trig would really help to make things simpler. Still, the book is very neat and overally consise. My last complaint is that no modern physics are discussed. I didn't hear anything mentioned about Special and General Relativity, or Space Time, or Thermodynamics, and thats really the juicy stuff. A good, solid read in the end though..
