Rating: 4
Summary: couldn't put it down
Comment: This is the first book that I have read by this author and I am now going to go out and get the first 2 in the series.

The only reason why I gave it 4 stars was it was a little predictable. But a great read. The author had some interesting twists with the plot...

Rating: 3
Summary: weak third in a trilogy
Comment: The third in her series, following "the Darkest Knight" then there was "A Knight's Vow" two brothers' stories. This is the sister's story.
He is foster child who saved the daughter of the keep in a siege, but his closeness to the girl causes the brothers to send him away. Cursed by visions since childhood, no Lord wishes him a squire, so has to make his way in the world, so he bounces around France and England making a living as a mercenary and in tournaments. He grows up hating that Margery and her brothers turned him away after he saved and protected her.

Margery Wells has been granted lands by Henry, but also the unique honour of selecting her own husband. This makes her the object of every unwed knight in England. Visions warn Gareth of her danger so he returns to protect her. She hires him for same reason, but asks he pretend to be suitor to keep the others as bay.

I have liked Callen's other two works, just this one seemed rather flat. However, if you have read to other two in the series I am sure you will want to end the trilogy.

Rating: 3
Summary: A good wrap to the trilogy
Comment: This is the 3rd book in the series. It all started with "the Darkest Knight" then there was "A Kinght's Vow" which are the heroine's two brothers stories. The heroine, Lady Margery has made appearances in the other two books so it was nice to read her story.
It starts off as a flashback to when the heroine and hero were both children. The hero, Gareth is fostering at her fathers keep when it falls under attack. Gareth is asked by the Lord to keep Margery safe. He does but when its all over he is sent away from Margery by her older brothers.

12 years later, Gareth returns convinced that Margery is in danger and that he must protect her. Margery, now grown has been given a great privilege by the king. To choose her own husband. She is soon swamped by perspective bridegrooms and when Gareth comes to her aid she is comforted and happy to see her old friend. Gareth poses as onw of the would be prospects to insure her safety.

Margery has a secret though that is tearing her apart and only Gareth can help her with it. Along the way they fall in love but both know it can neer be.

This is a good enjoyable story that will make you want to read more of this authors work.
