Summary: Wonderful, very enjoyable, easy to read
Comment: Torey does it again in her book Somebody Else's Kids. this book is one of my favorite books she has written. It is not only enjoyable to ready but fairly easy to read also. Torey grabs you right from the beginning and emmerses you into her life and the lives of the children she teaches. From little Boo who you see a glimmer of hope, to Lori who trys so hard only to be set up for failure by her mean spirted full time teacher, (not Torey). Then there's Tomaso who has so much hurt and anger built up inside that you'll wonder how he can ever be a normal kid, and lastly there's little Claudia with nothing wrong except she made a little mistake and got pregnate at the age of 12. through the whole book you wonder and read in awe at how much energy Torey has with these children. and wonder on how she'll ever get through to all of them.

Summary: A very touching book.
Comment: Somebody Else's Kids by Torey L. Hayden shows the challenge of teaching four troubled children. Torey's class is known as "the class that created itself." Although Torey has taught special education classes before, she has never had a class like this. Torey really takes these four children to heart and can't stop trying to help them, even after she fails. I think this effort makes Torey an excellent teacher. Torey cared more about her four students, Boo (who is autistic), Lori (who cannot learn how to read), Tomaso (who is violently angry), and Claudia (who was put out by her Catholic school when she became pregnant) then their own parents did. I give Torey a lot of credit; most people wouldn't be up for this type of challenge. I would recommend this book to anyone, whether they have an interest in special education or whether they just have to read it for a college English class. This is truly a wonderful and inspiring book.

Summary: Pretty Good
Comment: While I didn't enjoy this book as much as some of the other Torey Hayden books I've read, I did like this book.
The troubled children in this book were lovable and as always, Torey worked miracles with them. I really felt her love for them. My favorite of the children was the autistic Boo.
Read this book - you won't regret it.
