Summary: Sweet, heartwarming Christmas romance!
Comment: I recently reread this book over Christmas and enjoyed it once again. This is a sweet, heartwarming romance involving a family, displaced by the Civil War, that is trying to start over out West. The love story of Lizzy and Cody was very touching. It could have been a bit more emotional and a little less lustful for my taste, but it was still a good story. Why did I give only 3 stars to a book I enjoyed? The book is a good read, but the characters could have been fleshed out a little more. Sometimes I felt like I was being told rather than shown how the lovers and the families loved each other.

Comment: When I first read this book I was throughly enchanted. I read it over and over until it fell apart and I had to get a new one. Ruth Langan spins a magical story when magic is at it's best
