Summary: Interesting if she actually dated
Comment: This book should have been called "See Jane try to get a life, exagerate her life and find true love at the end".

Don't get me wrong, I like "See Jane Date", it just is interesting that Senate spent a lot of time deconstructing Jane's life than actually allowing her to have one.

"See Jane Date" is your formulaic chick-lit book. You will find no suprises and no real guesses work to what is going to happen. The reason I am giving this four stars is because Senate, like Jennifer Weiner, seems to have a firm grasp of writing a coherent sentance, just too bad she couldn't come up with a more original plot.

Senate is a decent writer, and this books is a nice fun read, it just is not original nor does the main character really striker a chord within you. The publisher, Red Dress Ink, has put up a few chapters of her next book on their website and that should be interesting on how it turns out.

Summary: Started out ok, got lost along the way.....
Comment: I thought that this book would be sort of fun, or maybe well written! I was wrong! Formulaic, of course! Jane is an associate editor at a publishing house! (Can writers of chick lit ever work anywhere else?) She needs a boyfriend, so she can take him to her perfect cousin's wedding and please her aunt! She goes through some not so interesting blind dates, finds some possible love, loses it, and ... ta-dah! The end proves that the formula is always followed!

I think what bothered me a lot is the fact that the author used actor/actress names to describe someone. What ever happened to good, old-fashioned writing? Where you use your "talent" and "show, not tell?" Natasha looks like Nicole Kidman, a guy she dated looked like Greg, from Dharma and Greg, and she danced with a guy that looked like someone from Northern Exposure! Please!! Don't make it so dated, that people can only understand who these celebrities are in the years 2000-2005 or whatever!! Cheesy!

At the beginning, it was interesting, somewhat entertaining, and funny in parts, but the longer I read those almost 300 pages, I tried to hurry up to the inevitable end! I normally like being right, but I hate it in these situations! Save your money, read Milkrun instead. A much better Red Dress Ink book)

Summary: Going In Blind
Comment: Jane Gregg is a twenty-something assistant editor at Posh Publishing who gets a chance at a promotion. all she has to do is edit the memoir of Natasha Nutley. the same Natasha Nutley Jane knows from high school who made her life miserable. in a desperate attempt to impress Natasha, Jane makes up a very handsome, very rich, very fake boyfriend. when Jane's engaged cousin, Dana, hears the rumor, she tells Jane to bring the "new guy" to her wedding. now Jane has to find a stand-in boyfriend through blind dates to bring to the wedding or she'll look exactly like she feels...a desperate idiot.
i couldnt put this book down. it drew me in, from the first to last page. the array of different personalities in the book ensures that anyone can relate to at least one of the characters. See Jane Date is a must read for any fan of Chick Lit.
