Summary: Another moving romance by the great Ruth Wind
Comment: Luke was the love of Jessie's life but he was an alcoholic. She was forced to leave him nine years earlier when she discovered she was pregnant. Growing up with an alcoholic Mom, Jessie refused to put their child through the pain and guilt suffered by those who love an alcoholic. Jessie never got over leaving Luke and, although he accepted her leaving him as a punishment for his behavior, he never got over losing her either. Now he's clean and sober and they meet again and are forced to face the past and figure out the future.
This was an emotional read with very human characters who learn to trust and find the strength to love with an open heart. This was a darn good book but I'm warning you it's a tear-jerker. It's a romantic, loving and sensual story.

Summary: This was actually a really good book!
Comment: I don't actually enjoy romance novels, but a friend of mine who does sent this my way. I am pretty earthy... into midwifery and breastfeeding advocacy and honesty within relationships. This book REALLY appealed to me. It gives a very positive view of native culture and reserve life (the male lead is Navajo) and presents midwifery and breastfeeding as expected cultural norms. Alcoholism and self-deception are discussed as well. I was VERY impressed and highly recommend this book if you can find a copy!
