Summary: What a hoot!
Comment: Who among us has not thought of just taking off and leaving everything behind, family, job, 'life'? Well, Juanita, the heroine in this fine first book does that. And as someone who has written about Montana, I don't think she could have chosen a better place to get lost in. Talk about your quirky characters!
I appreciated the fact that the author was not afraid to pair Juanita with a Native American man. Jessie, the 'Lakota man', as she referred to him. I'd like to see more authors bring African Americans and Native Americans together in fiction. Another point: It's often true that the best thing you can do for a spoiled child is nothing. Let him stand on his own two feet. Wonderful first novel, Ms. Williams. I look forward to reading more from you.

Summary: A fresh and refreshing read
Comment: Dancing on the Edge of the Roof by new novelist Sheila Williams offers a fresh read for AA fiction enthusiasts. The main character, forty-two year old Juanita, is ditching her mundane Columbus, Ohio existence to see what lies beyond mothering her adult kids, and going to her nursing job. She ends up in Paper Moon, Montana, about as far away from the inner city projects that she can go. Readers will get a kick out of Juanita, a loving, sassy, and gutsy character who turns the town around with her bold attitude and passion for cooking; Juanita's journey may make readers think of their own life, and will give hope and inspiration to those who seek an existence beyond the ordinary.
Dancing of the Edge is full of heart; the character's voice is clear and endearing, and the writing is crisp and to the point, with vivid descriptions. The love and passion that's expressed within this novel shines through with brilliance; it is a recommended read.

Summary: This book takes you to another world
Comment: I enjoyed this book very much. This book really made me feel like I was in Papermoon Montana. I enjoyed myself sitting in Jess's diner eating good homecooking from Juanita. And laughing and joking with all the townsfolk. I really felt like I was there and when Juanita left I felt the hurt because I felt like I was leaving to right with her and even though the adventure was about to start all over again .The book was over and so was my adventure with Juanita. I think there are many women who have felt like Juanita who just wanted to pick up and go and LIVE. But this in most cases does not happen and is very unrealistic. I guess that's why it was fiction. But it still doesn't stop a sister from dreaming.
