Summary: A good book that makes good writing
Comment: The book,"KEY TO SUCCESSFUL WRITING,UNLOCKING THE WRITER WITHIN",by Marilyn Anderson,is a wonderful book that discuss the fundermental steps to writing good and captivating essays. The five steps discussed (purpose, focus, structure, style, and material) and if followed by students or users of this book will lead to unlocking the writer within. The book used students essays to illustrate the need to good writing and an overview of how essays are constructed and presented to attract the readers attention. Most mistakes made by the students were dicsussed like fragments,run-ons faulty parallelism, tense shifts, mixed constructions, and others common mistakes made while writing essays. Parts of speech were revised in details as guide to expose the user to other materials that could make the user essays difficult to read. I have worked with this book for one semester and it improved my writing skill a lot making me aware of mistakes I know nothing about. I recommend this book to lovers of good essays as Mark Twain wrote,"a man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who does not read at all". This book is a must for everyone that wants to improve his writing skill.

Summary: I found this book helpful on a daily basis.
Comment: I found Marilyn Anderson's book Keys to Successful Writing, quite helpful. The book helped me establish a better understanding of what pro-nouns and adjectives were. I also found that I had no knowledge of what dangling modifiers, faulty parallelism/comparison, as well as others were until I started working on grammar exercises. I also liked the fact that M. Anderson uses essays from her students to illustrate an essay's focus, structure, and style within each chapter on the book. In addition, I've notice that reader has options on subjects to write. By giving the reader more than one option, it gives them the opportunity to explore and acknowlodge their feelings and emotions through a subject that they could relate to. I found this pleasing because few writers agonize and struggle on subjects that they dislike, resulting to a poor written essay. In simple terms, writing on a subject that does not appeal to a writer does not motivate them to write well. The book also reflects on materials that were previously disccused in each chapter, which is good to know, to help us better understand the information and how an essay should be structured. Overall, I must admit that this book has helped me considerable with daily and ordinary English, grammar, and correct sentence structure that benefits myself and for future job assignments.
