Summary: Good read, good technical details
Comment: This book is presented as a "true story" complete with a few plausible 'official documents' at the end and so must be judged on two main criteria:
1) Read -- it is very good for a 'true military' type adventure. Comparable to Marcinko's earlier and better books. Only significant literary criticisms would be overuse of flashbacks and occasionally telling rather than showing, but that fits with the "this is my story, I am not a professional writer, this ain't no s**t" character of the book.
2) Truth -- it could have happened. Maybe it did, maybe it didn't. Much of it happened to SOMEONE; we know this from other sources. So how to judge? Here is what I can offer: usually I can pull such books apart on their failure to get the technical and verifiable details correct.
BTW, some people complained about the "unlikely sexual adventures", when if you check close, he only slept with ONE of the 'beautiful' women who was a former girlfriend, and that only after several nights in the guest room.
If another author doesn't even know the right caliber for certain weapons, or the way they really work, then you know they probably were never there. My store of facts and is large and I served in the Airborne in the same time frame as the earliest parts. Even with this, I cannot catch him on any technical details. In fact, every time I thought he was about to make a technical error in TACTICS, he explained the reason for the deviation within the next paragraph. It takes an intermediate to know all the rules, it takes a master to know when to break the rules for the right reasons.
DEFINITELY WORTH READING if you like (any of): Clancy, Marcinko, military fiction, special ops, or conspiracy theories.
For six bucks, you don't even need an excuse -- Buy it and tell us what YOU THINK.

Summary: couldn't put it down!
Comment: Bob King has lead a pretty exciting life. his story kept my attention rivited to this book from cover to cover. i've read other accounts of government betrayal, so i'm not surprised that the killing of patriotic soldiers happens, but it's still just as disgusting every time i read of another occurance. when will these creeps be brought to justice? can't wait for the next book to hit the streets. keep 'em on their toes, Mr.King!

Summary: You want be able to put this book down.
Comment: I have recently become an avid reader, and this book started my hunger. Having read several books throughout college I was not one to read alot, to much going on in life. This book was recommended to me by someone at my gym. Bob King's Spooky-8 The Final Mission was written so well that I felt like Bob King in the story. I was caught up in the more than likely true story of an individual who had served our country well, yet was repaid with the threat of his life being taken from him. How can one not be captivated by a story like this. It would have been easy for an unintelligent man to tell this story in the wrong way, but Bob King does not do that. He reintroduced me to the way a story can be told, and not many books that I have read since have lived up to this mark (although mostly a fiction writter, not even Clancy). Thanks Bob King for such a revitting non-fiction book.
