Summary: So Painfully Honest and Helpful.
Comment: I saw this book on the shelf, did a double take, picked it up...and realized I had to have it. The wit, the sarcasm, the truthful and perfect hilarity with which it is written makes it necessary to any female The 12 "Are you compatible with so-and-so 'bastard'" quizzes are wonderful and showed me that I am extraordinarily compatible with Scorpio, since I scored 34 points and anything over 30 points in any quiz is like, "Sorry, this horror is right for you, have a good time while you still can!" And apparantly a Scorpio male is the dark, brooding, destructive type. This book is pure genius. It tells us that "the strong silent type" is NOT what you want. Those qualities are desirable in a washing machine, not a man, it says. This book will make you laugh a million times per page. Guaranteed. For instance, the Piscean profile asks, "He's a loser. So why don't you kill him?" and then explains why: The public outcry that would inevitably result because he's such a bloody nice guy. Leo's hysterical profile is written in play form, so you can actually act out a scene about this sickeningly egotistical man. And Gemini apparantly has six men inside him, one of whom is named Zoltan, one of whom is utterly useless, and one of whom is good at selling things nobody wants...like a Gemini "bastard." Or ANY of the men in this book. Incidentally, every man has a birthday and therefore has a star sign and therefore is a "bastard" and therefore is NOT what you want (to love, that is...) So the moral of it all is never to marry, basically. Or date. I have only one other thing to say: There but for the grace of god go I in my new gucci dress.

Summary: Sex and the City fans must buy this!
Comment: If you love the witty banter that Carrie and her friends engage in on Sex and the City as they analyze men, you will love this book! It is a hilarious guide to navigating the male species through their astrological characteristics. This book will keep you laughing out loud as it blows out the annoying traits associated with each zodiac sign, and you will be amazed at how much of it actually rings true! It will even help you pick out the perfect (or not so perfect) match for you with fun compatibility quizzes. A perfect gift for anyone who has ever dated less-than-wonderful men.

Summary: Astrologically illiterate.
Comment: I'm an Aries male who reads even though, according to the authors of this book, the Aries male is very unlikely to read anything beyond Dr. Seuss. This claim, like almost all the claims about the Aries male, would seem to fly in the face of even the most astrologically subliterate layperson. (...) As to the claim that the Aries male is averse to "women's lib," as the authors so old-fashionedly call it, one need only consider that the Aries male admires independent people to see through the astrological illiteracy of this phrase. (...)

Anyway, my point isn't to defend the Aries male. The Aries male, after all, can defend himself. My point is that, after reading my own sign and comparing not just to what I know about myself but to everything I've ever read about my sign (including, especially, Linda Goodman's insightful astrology), it became quicly obvious that these writers don't know the first thing about astrology (or, I would guess, about feminism either).
