Summary: Fantastic Companion to the Basics of Biblical Greek
Comment: I think that this is a great companion to the Basics of Biblical Greek Text and Workbook. It is great to expand one's vocabulary in addition to the vocabulary lists found within the Basics of Biblical Greek Text. Of great use is the frequency list. It allows one to learn more common words that you will run into quite frequently. The organization was a bit confusing at first, but once I read the introduction, it was sorted out quite easily (If you are uncertain of the root of the word you are going to look up, please be sure to check in the index.) Also, there is not a English to Greek organization to the book, but it was purposely written that way. All in all, I would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could. I would definitely recommend it to any beginning New Testament Greek Student as I am.

Summary: Great book!!!
Comment: Warren Trenchard's book is an awesome resource for anybody doing serious greek study. Warren gives words in listings for both frequency and cognate groups. While the frequency list is the obvious choice for order of memorization, the cognate section has been the real key to me for memory retention. It transforms the learning from sheer memorization to the fluent understanding of concepts. Often times, seeing the commen root has instantely made difficult words easy. I am on a eight year plan to learn all the words in the Greek New Testament and Warren's book is my main source of study.

Rating: 5
Summary: Top Vocabulary Resource for the New Testament
Comment: Trenchard's book is without doubt the most thorough and helpful work available for building the Greek vocabulary necessary to read the New Testament in the original language. While several other good books have been written for this purpose, none is as complete as this one. With an exaustive list of the New Testament Greek vocabulary organized by word families and by frequency of usage, plus several other helpful lists, this book lends itself well to the task of enlarging the reader's vocabulary.

I have used this book for second semester classes in Biblical Greek and as a guide for review in second year Greek. It has worked well in both contexts.
