Summary: Encourages children to sneak onto Internet
Comment: Although my daughter loves Barbie, and I have no problem with that, I was shocked to read this book to her. The girl in the story waits until the parents go to bed and gets onto the Internet so she and her friend can communicate with and ultimately visit Barbie. I had to tell my daughter as we were reading the book that it wasn't okay to go onto the Internet at night when there aren't any parents around, so that they could ask an adult's advice online, without the parents finding out. It is a pretty strange mix of fantasy and reality. As much as I think girls should be encouraged to use technology, I found this book inappropriate for my seven year old daughter.
