Comment: My comments are probably more about me than about the book. Concerning battleships specifically and naval warfare in general. I would define myself as an informed general public reader, with very little knowledge about naval warfare wishing to understand the reasoning behind the battleship as fighting unit and the way it fitted into the general picture of warfare in its lifetime. From this perspective I rate the book as follows: upside - serious and convincing analysis. downside - no technical designs; too much background knowledge supposed on the part of the reader; no glossary of naval/technical terms; not enough background as to the 'logic' of naval warfare
