Summary: An Old Childhood Favorite Revisted
Comment: When I was a young child, I, my parents and twin sister, would spend part of the summer in Five Islands, Maine. We stayed at a large house belonging to our father's great aunt, who would take in boarders every summer. One summer the house was so full, my sister and I ended up in the attic, with rows of books behind our beds. Among the books were Bambi, Bambi's Children, and Perri, and all three became favorites of mine. Many times while I was growing up, and grown up, I so wished I could get a copy of Bambi's Children, and was delighted to be able to order a used copy from amazon.com. It was so enjoyable reading about Bambi and Faline's two fawns, Geno and Gurri, and how different in personality they were. In the course of the novel, you meet their Aunt Rolla and her fawns, Lana and Boso, and the two orphans, Nello and Membo. And, in the end, the mother, Faline, knowing when the time was right, sends her and Bambi's children off to start lives of their own. Magic and wonderment on every page, and a joy to read, and read again.

Summary: Bambi Review
Comment: Bambi was about a young prince named Bambi,a deer, and his life avoiding man. Bambi is a delicious book. A true classic. Generation after generation will certainly love it like I did. You won't be able to put it down. I liked the book because, I enjoy hunting, so it was kinda cool to read about animals. The reason i gave it four stars was because I disliked the book a little. I disliked the book because it wasn't like the movie, and it made my fellow hunters look bad.

Summary: Favorite childhood read
Comment: I read this book over and over again when I was seven or eight. Wonderfully illustrated, I actually read this, the sequel, before reading the original "Bambi," and at the time, I was a bit shocked at the difference in tone between the two stories (the original was definitely dark, compared to the lightheartedness of the sequel). The story of Bambi's Children, twin fawns Geno and Gurrie, is a must-read for any young lover of nature stories.
