Comment: Just in case you had any doubts, this collection of essays (dating from 1968 to 1999) is clearly a major archive of achievement, demonstrating Stroud's preminence in American philosophy. Here is his articles in epistemology, which touch upon various topics: foundationialism, scepticism, and transcendental arguments. Stroud pays close attention to the challenges philosophical scepticism offers any theory of knowledge, and highlights just how skepticism is a serious problem in contemporary philosophy. He is also careful to argue for the "invulnerability" of certain thoughts and experiences.
