Summary: Very Informative - Great Reading!
Comment: As a grad student at Carnegie Mellon University, this subject is one of my passions. This book gave me a really good insight into the causes of variabilities between humans and other species. Great resource for anyone involved in genetic research such as strain markers, including genetic mapping and studies of the evolutionary connections between species and populations.

The best part is that this book brings together and international group of scientists currently working in microsatellites. They detail the molecular processes that have given rise to microsatellite DNA, and then describe the various ways in which the potential of microsatellites is being harnessed in medical genetics, behavioural and evolutionary biology, and ecology.
