Summary: A Wonderful Story
Comment: I like the book The Duplicate because it is full of a lot of action and suspense. I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. After I read this book I wanted to read other books by the same author because I like the way he writes science fiction. Sleator's books are very, very fantastic books to read.

Some positive things I liked about this book were that it had lots of action. This book would catch any reader's eyes that love science fiction. I also think that Sleator describes a lot of things real well. For example, he decribes the scene where the kids were on top of the mountain.

Some negetive things that I didn't like were that the character duplicated himself in the beginning of the third chapter. Maybe Sleator could have built the story up more before doing this. Also, some parts of the story were boring. For example, in the middle of the story some chapters were very boring because they didn't have any action.

I would recommend this book to children from the ages ten through fifteen. I think you'll love this book.

Summary: The Duplicate
Comment: The Duplicate was a very good and unpredictable book. It was about a young boy named David who was on the beach and found a machine which was called the Spee Dee Dupe. When David noticed the machine he went over towards it and he pushed a button on it, when he looked around he noticed that now their was two seagulls instead of one, they looked exactly the same. David decided to bring the Spee Dee Dupe home and see what it actually was. When it was brought home he decided to try it out on his fish, and not only now did he have one fish, but now he has two. David thought it would be cool to have someone to help him out so he didn't see how duplicating himself could be such a bad idea. You should read this book to see what David has to go through with a double of himself and what he must do to resolve it. This book is Science Fiction and it was very enjoyable, I couldn't put it down. If you don't read this book your missing out on a wonderful thrill.

Summary: The Duplicate
Comment: This book started off horribly slow where a boy named David finds a machine to duplicate himself but the duplicate dosent solve his problems he makes them worse. The book started off too slow! It doesnt get exciting till the end. It is really boring, the only reason it got this 3 was because the last 2 chapters were good. dont wast ur money!
