Summary: A decent book for vocabulary, horrible for grammar
Comment: I am currently taking Spanish 102 at WCU with the Vistazos text. I consider myself to be fairly gifted in learning new languages - especially if the material is presented in a concise, logical/sequential form (such as in the Wheelock Latin series).

This book begins much like a travel phrase book, with simple phrases and answers (with no grammar until later on). The material is not presented in a logical order and often times it is very frustrating for me to complete the exercises. The verb conjugations are listed in incoherent green charts throughout the book, but nowhere is there a section on how to adequately interpret them. If I had not already been studying latin, I would have been totally lost in this regard.

I do, however, highly reccomend the workbook and the audio selections. They have been very helpful in recognizing vocabulary and learning to discern what native speakers are saying.
