Summary: Scolarly scientific proof of grim consequences of nuclear
Comment: 35 years ago Professor Dr. Seth Neddeymeyer (group leader of the Manhattan Project "Fat Boy" detonator and Physics professor at the University of Washington, Seattle)advised me to read Sternglass' first edition of this book. Had I read it then, I would have become an enraged activist against nuclear power. But now I am too old. Sternglass shows in correlation after correlation the connection between low level fallout and infant mortality. There is no question that excees infant mortality occurred downwind of nuclear testing and that it continues half a century later downwind of nuclear power plants. I am suprised that this book is available at all. I would have expected that the nuclear power industry would have purchased and burned each and every copy of this book, and stolen and burned every copy in every library. However, the industry has little to worry about. The babies they kill can't read and their parents are brainwashed and certainly do not want to know the truth. This book tells what really happened at Three Mile Island, and the erie resemblance it had to the China Syndrome that was ironically being played at the time of that nuclear accident. I admire Professor Sternglass for his courageous research and exposure of the nuclear technology as the greastest disaster of the industrial revolution. At best, the technology may ultimately be dismanteled at huge cost. The nuclear mess is staggering....perhaps irreversible. Is this the last horseman of the apocalypse?
