Comment: My expectations for this book were hightened by the glowing reviews on the site. I was very disappointed with the book for several reasons. First it is a very basic treatment of an industry subject that is huge in content. The author covers a lot of ground by very lightly touching on too many subjects to be informative.... So many subjects receive only the barest mention. Second, my experience with McGraw-Hill books on technical subjects led me to order this technical "fly-weight". Another reason for my disappointment. I recently purchased "Electronic Failure Analysis" by Perry L. Martin. Mr. Martin did a superb job with a complex subject by focusing on a specific topic. I have purchased and read many technical books, electronics oriented and on other subjects as well. If you are new to technology there are better books that cost less and do a better job of subject coverage than barely skimming the surface....
